Justin Whitlock Dart Jr.
(August 29, 1930 – June 22, 2002)
Justin Dart, Jr., 1998 recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, was recorded five decades of advocacy for human and disability rights in USA and other nations. Dart was a passionate leader in the disability rights movement and was an instrumental force behind the historic Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark law protecting the civil rights of persons with disabilities. He visited each of the fifty United States at least five times to advocate for the passage and implementation of the ADA, and the empowerment of people with and without disabilities.
